About Me
Hi! I'm Paddy Moogan.
I work with agency founders, owners and senior teams to help them navigate the world of agency life. It’s a world that I know well after running my own agency for ten years, experiencing the highs, lows and everything in between. I know just how hard running an agency can be. I sometimes joke (although it’s not really a joke) that the agency business model was created to break people! My job now is to help agency founders get to where they want to be with their agency. I usually get brought into agencies when:
- They’ve gotten to a good level of revenue and have grown well, but aren’t sure where to go next.
- They’ve never worked with an advisor before and would like another perspective on the business.
- They know where they want to get to, but want someone to help them get there.
- They’re lacking accountability and direction, after being in the weeds a bit too much.
If this sounds like you, then let’s have a chat.
My Story
I built my first website when I was 14 years old, using Notepad and an FTP program. Around the same time, I started my first “business” at school – buying sweets at the local shop and selling them to my school mates at lunchtime. I’d then use my profits to buy myself lunch (and more sweets) the following day.
I guess i should have known back then that I was meant to work for myself and that I’d fall into technology at some point.
I took a few detours along the way, including getting a Law degree and starting (and selling) a florist business.
In 2015, I co-founded a digital agency called Aira which I ran and became CEO of. Then ten years later, I stepped away after hitting some struggles with my mental and physical health.
Now, I work with agency founders, owners and senior teams to help them navigate the challenging world of agency life.
Why work with me
There are lots of advisors, non-execs, mentors, coaches, board members etc out there who you can work with. Many of them are very good at what they do – I’ve probably worked with and know a few of them!
Frankly, I know that I’m a bit different to most of them.
Firstly, I didn’t get my dream exit from my own agency – I don’t have that dream to sell you. But this also gives me a grounding and a perspective that most other agency owners can’t give you. In reality, this means that I won’t project “how I did things” onto you.
Sure, I’ll share my experience, what I did right and what I did wrong, but I’ll never just say “do it like this because that’s what I did”.
Secondly, and probably most importantly, I spend more time listening than speaking. I do my best not to leap to conclusions or make assumptions about you or your agency.
Instead, I listen, understand and speak when I have something of value to give you.
