I’ve experienced all of these challenges myself (along with many, many more!) and I currently work with agency founders to help them overcome them too. I share what worked for me, what didn’t, and help them find the right solution for them.

Okay, how does this actually look in reality?

Let’s look at some concrete examples of how we may work together. Here are some examples of what I do with my current agency clients.

This may sound corny, but if I had to summarise what I actually do -

it’s being there for you.

Building Momentum

  1. Ongoing 1:1s and board-level conversations
  2. Driving accountability to keep you on track
  3. Getting out of the agency whirlwind

Strategic Input

  1. Developing strategic roadmaps that guide growth
  2. Defining clear KPIs and measurable goals
  3. Facilitating focused, action-driven workshops

Having Your Back

  1. A confidential, experienced sounding board
  2. A trusted advisor with your best interests at heart
  3. Empathy grounded in lived agency experience

This may sound corny, but if I had to summarise what I actually do -

it’s being there for you.

Paddy - Why

Why me?

Since exiting my own agency in 2024, I’ve quietly worked my way into this whole “agency advisory” space and it scared me a little. There are a LOT of great advisors out there who have scaled and sold their agencies, walking off into the sunset and now they will show you how to do it too.
I’m not that advisor.
My exit was messy. After 10 years of running an agency, my mental health was in a bad place and I needed a change in my life. I took the decision to leave my own agency and I’m thankful that I had a co-founder who took over and enabled me to step away.

Paddy - Why me_ 2
My exit wasn’t a dream come true. I actually don’t really like to call it an exit and I didn’t celebrate it. I can’t promise you that dream.
I’m promising you trust, support and advice from someone who knows how hard running an agency is.
I’m promising you the experience of someone who can help you avoid the problems that led to the exit that I needed, but didn’t really want.
Most importantly, I’m promising you support as a person. Yes, I work with your agency but primarily my goal is to support you.

CLIENT FEEDBACK
Working with Paddy Moogan as a board advisor for Women in Tech SEO has been such a great experience. Paddy brought so many helpful insights that really helped us take our business to the next level.

His guidance was especially valuable as we went through some important stages of growth. He helped us fine-tune our targets, making sure we were focused on the right goals. One of the highlights was a half-day strategy workshop he ran with us, which helped us dig into our goals and develop clear steps for the future. The direction we gained from that session continues to guide us to this day.

What
I can actually DO

Technically, I’m a consultant for your agency. But I’m a bit more invested than your average consultant because I actually care about effecting change. You’re probably familiar with a few other ways of describing what I do:
Board Member or Advisor
Non Exec Director (or NED)
Coach
Mentor
Honestly, I think that I’m a blend of all of these roles because every agency founder that I work with needs different things at different times.
There isn’t a “one size fits all” approach to what I do and nor should there be, because every agency and every founder is different.
Having said that, if I’m being honest, 18 years of working in agencies and running my own have taught me that they all share the same core challenges. But the way those challenges are solved are different for every agency.

I work best at this intersection...

Basically, I don’t see myself as working with your agency.
I see myself as working with the human being behind an agency.

Who
I work
best with

I’m not for everyone and that’s a good thing. At the moment, I typically work with >

Some current and previous clients.

01

Agency owners and founders

02

C-Suite and directors

03

Senior management teams

If you’re one of the above, that’s a good start.

On top of that, I tend to work best with people who listen, welcome feedback, and genuinely want to build a great agency.

My services
and pricing

flower ff
I don’t want to waste your time or mine, so I’m transparent about the fees that I typically charge. At the same time, no two agencies or founders are the same, so I’ll provide an exact quote after we’ve had a conversation or two.
In the meantime, here is a rundown of the services I offer and the budget ranges for each one. There are two core ways that we can work together:

01

Bespoke, one-to-one monthly coaching (most popular).

02

Group coaching with a small group of agency founders.

CLIENT FEEDBACK
Working with Paddy has been one of the best decisions Jess and I ever made at Part Three Digital.

Having access to guidance and hands on support from someone who has navigated almost every challenge an agency can has been invaluable for the growth of our agency and I couldn’t recommend him enough to any agency leaders.

Paddy helped us with the ‘whirlwind’ of agency life and kept us strategically focused on our long term goals. It is brilliant to have someone to keep you accountable and focused ON the business.

Most importantly, working with Paddy has been so enjoyable! Jess and I benefited so much personally from our sessions and always looked forward to them.

FAQs

How long are your contract terms?

I don’t ask for long contracts because I back myself to do a good job.

Instead, I work on a rolling monthly basis, meaning that you’re not making a long-term financial commitment and can end our time working together at any time with a month’s notice.

Whilst I do my best to share meaningful experience across clients e.g. current industry sentiment or previous experience of strategies, I never share specific data or confidential information between clients. I’m happy to sign NDAs where required.

Yes. I am happy to work with your senior team members as well, whether that is in a one-to-one capacity or as a senior team. In fact, this can be a great way of offering more development for your senior team members who are eager to learn.

I’d be keen to work together for a period of time before committing to this kind of arrangement. But if we work together well and you’d like me to have more skin in the game, I’d be happy to discuss it.

I work best when I get to know the founders who I work with, meaning that retainers are preferable. But if you have a specific problem or project that you’d like help with, I’d be happy to have a chat and see if I can help as a one-off project.

I don’t work with founders to deliver time. I work with founders to deliver value and to effect change in their business. I’ve been working in the agency world for 18 years and you’re buying that experience – not a fixed amount of hours per month. With that said, we’ll work on a cadence of meetings each month, but that is flexible and can change over time based on your priorities.

CLIENT FEEDBACK
The thing I value most about working with Paddy, is that he's right there with you in the trenches. He'll go from high-level strategy and long-term planning, right down to breaking out that spreadsheet and doing the work with you. I really appreciate how much he cares and how much knowledge he has that can really help.
